The main research interests:
- impact of anthropopressure on the occurrence of birds and bats with particular emphasis on breeding and wintering sites
- adaptations of terrestrial vertebrates to diverse habitats in anthropogenic landscape
- distribution of small terrestrial mammals and bats in Poland
- protection of endangered vertebrates and assessments of environmental risks in the investment processes
In my research I focus on the analysis of changes in the occurrence and distribution of small mammals caused by anthropogenic landscape transformations. Analysis of the owl pellets enabled me to determine the width of owl food-niche and expand the knowledge on their distribution in Poland. The result of my studies was elaboration of 36 maps of the distribution of small mammals, bats and wild game in the Atlas of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship http://atlas.kujawsko-pomorskie.pl/maps/app/map. I am interested in bat ecology and the their use of artificial roosts in commercial forests. Studying bats during hibernation enabled us to create Nature 2000 areas protecting wintering sites for bats in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. I also work on the methodology of pre-investment studies of vertebrates, and of the assessment of the impact of road and building infrastructure on the environment.
