Molecular and Cell Biology Group
The research of the Department of Cell Biology concerns on the mechanisms of regulation and spatial organization of gene expression in eukaryotic cells. The conducted research, in which the entire scientific team of the Department takes part, focuses on the following issues:
1. The organization of chromatin and epigenetic regulation of gene expression in germ cells and during early stages of embryogenesis in plants.
2. Cellular cycle of snRNPs and 3. a new role of CBs in pre-mRNA metabolism.
4. Participation of Sm proteins in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in the cytoplasm.
5. Biogenesis and metabolism of micro RNA in somatic cells and germ cells in plants.
