Department of Hydrobiology
Over the past decades, Department of Hydrobiology has been building expertise in research and education in the areas of ecology of freshwaters. Current areas of focus include:
- behavioural interactions among aquatic animals (in situ study, laboratory experiments)
- biological invasions of fish and invertebrates in aquatic environments
- ecology of oxbow lakes
- ecology of the lower Vistula River
- embryonic and larval development of freshwater fish
- factors affecting structure of pelophilous benthic fauna
- human impact on river systems
