Department of Biochemistry
Research conducted at the Department of Biochemistry includes contemporary biochemical, molecular and biotechnological aspects of enzymatic proteins involved in cell metabolism and signal transduction. Works are carried out both in plant cell extracts and animal and human cell cultures as in vitro models. We use many modern experimental methods in standard and specialized laboratories that are well equipped with modern scientific instruments. Our research are focused on three areas of investigation:
- purinergic signaling in proliferation and differentiation of stem cells and cardiovascular system
- metabolism and biological functions of auxin conjugates
- enzymes involved in metabolism of phospholipides
